Award-winning Golfer, Entrepreneur, Youth Advocate, Founder of Golf Women Mean Business (GWMB), Founder of Golf Women Mean Business Day in Georgia, Author of 9 Holes 9 Goals: A Beginner’s Guide to Doing Business on the Course, and a Children’s book, My Dad and Me on the Tee.
Prior to starting GWMB, Patrina owned and operated a pre-employment screening company. She used my knowledge from that business to educate youth and young adults on how their actions (sexting, online social media, school fights, drug and alcohol use, theft, etc) will affect future jobs and college applications.
As a former Human Resources Professional, her forte was background checks, employee development and employer unemployment claims. She has understood for a long time that being successful is not always a straight process. She started playing golf at the tender age of 5 and ultimately decided against choosing any of the 36 opportunities to play collegiate golf. (There’s a story)
She is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Her past affiliations with various organizations and events such as SHRM-Atlanta, United Way VIP, Executive Women’s Golf Association, the National Black MBA Association, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc. MECCA Chapter, and an Interview Expert for Women For Hire, endowed her with unparalleled expertise and experience. She studied Technical Management with a concentration in Human Resources at DeVry University and Human Resources at Keller Graduate School of Management. She is also a Certified Project Manager Professional (PMP).
Along with her interest in women’s rights, She developed a great passion for educating professionals on how to use golf for business. She has been featured on various television and blog talk radio shows. However, the epitome of her efforts to educate professionals come in workshops and speeches where she aims to “humanize” golf for those who are hesitant to give the sport a try.
Her current home is in the Metro Atlanta Georgia area with her husband. She served with the Mayor’s Youth Program of Atlanta for 6 years, providing Atlanta Public High School seniors with training on workforce readiness and job interview skills. She also allotted time in activities for events with 21st Century Leaders, Junior Achievement, and various other high school groups. In spare time not filled with work, volunteerism, or friends and family, She divulges her love of athletics (softball, golf, and football) through sports watch parties and playing rounds of golf with friends and colleagues.
She is on a mission to bridge the gap between golf and business for high level executives and entrepreneurs. She has developed golf products specifically designed for her clients and is very comfortable with being the “only” everything in any room. All of this has prepared her to work with you.
Patrina believes the best way to serve the people is by taking an informative and realistic approach to everyday activities and issues.
